"Keep It To Yourself" by Laura Ainsworth (Jazz Artist from Dallas, TX)

Highly talented Jazz vocalist, Laura Ainsworth, releases a spectacular Jazz CD, "Keep It To Yourself." Ainsworth, who is accompanied by the Brian Piper Trio and guests, create an album that is overflowing with vibrant passion and soul. She takes the ambiance of the '40's and '50's supper clubs/bands and elegantly mingles that feel with modern day flair. Opening up the album, the title track, "Keep It To Yourself," reels you in as Ainsworth sweetly expresses her elegant and classy voice with a sophisticated style. Her rendition of the great classic, "Dream A Little Dream of Me," is truly superb as she spins her own magnetic style to this song. The songs, "Midnight Sun" and Skylark" are smooth Jazz at its best as Ainsworth voice carries with a smooth and silky tonality. "Portraits From A Storm" by Aloa Harris (R&B Artist from The Bahamas)

"Portraits From A Storm" by Aloa Harris is a rich, groovy R&B/Contemporary/ Inspirational CD. The vocals of this seasoned artist are powerful and sultry while the lyrics truly are uplifting and encouraging. Each track lays down a fresh beat and the CD ranges in style from classic 70's, to R&B, a Gospel influence, and even a splash of Reggae. "In My Storm" utilizes a motivating beat and excellent harmonizing background vocals done by the artist herself as well as double lead vocals. The Caribbean-influenced "Pass the Word (feat. Monty G)" adds a different flavor to the CD with its spiritual lyrics and reggae style and grace. Altogether, this album serves as a full musical experience for R&B lovers and is well worth hearing.

"Better Than Ever" by IYAM (Rock Artist from Texas(TX))

Released for '09, IYAM's "Better Than Ever" CD, a collection of Classic Rock with Heavy Metal theatrics, sounds as fresh and relevant as ever. Since the likes of Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath popularized grandiose, anthem like Hard Rock virtues back in the day, many other sub-genres of Rock have come and gone, but Hard Rock and Metal's appeal has never waned. IYAM prove themselves accomplished purveyors in their own right, displaying said virtues on an album that hits all the right marks: songs built on riffs of unstoppable force, slashing lead guitar work worthy of Randy Rhodes, well-crafted and exemplary lyrics that get to the heart of what Metal is all about; and a singer with the rage, fire, and immediacy to bring it all home. Highlights include "Witches And Warlocks," built on a thundering blues riff, CD-opener "All Is Well," a rocker with soaring hooks, and "Going Through The Motions," with its Gothic atmosphere. IYAM's "Better Than Ever" CD is, simply, well-executed and powerful classic hard rock.

"Blue With Envy" by Tubie Pushe'e (Blues Artist from Texas(TX))

Tubie Pushe'e and his outstanding third release, "Blue With Envy," shines brightly with original and creative Texas-style blues. The first track, "Gimme Back My Car," leads off the disc with a flurry of good ol' blues. The vocals belt out the trials of love gone wrong, while the harmonica blows harmonious riffs and the walking bass line moves the steady and solid beat. Generous helpings of organ hooks and edgy guitar riffs heat up the bluesy tones of "Me and My Woman" which gives this song a deep, country roots feel. A bit of down home country flavor highlights the vocals while the piano complements the sweet guitar solo on "Home." "Skubie's Do 2" is a lush and lyrical guitar solo which is not only blues expression at its best but shows the great talent offered up on this disc. Pushe'e not only displays his love of the blues with engaging style but he also offers some diversity with tempo changes throughout the album. You can't go wrong listening to the well-fashioned songs of "Blue With Envy" by Tubie Pushe'e, as it is packed with terrific vocals, lyrics, and a solid support of instruments.

"Just Can't Believe It" by Tubie Pushe'e (Blues Artist from Texas (TX))

Tubie Pushe'e and his blues album "Just Can't Believe It," is entertaining and fun with its versatile rhythms and well crafted melodies. Pushe'e has a gifted talent with his vocals that are deep and rich and shine with full-bodied flavor. Not only is Pushe'e a talented singer but his guitar performances stand out as well. Listen to the catchy riff on "Alibis your lies" with a straight up feel or "709 blues" as the guitar rocks with an edgier touch. Right from the start, the title track "Just Can't Believe It" overflows with driving beats and catchy lyrics. "Share" puts out a touch of country flair when Pushe'e vocals demonstrate the familiar, down home country twang style. Taking the tempo to a slower bluesy beat, "A candle" and "Voices" offers smooth and tender guitar strumming, while the vocals are strong yet sung with emotional clarity. "Life Goes On" by Mark Wayne Glasmire (Country/Pop Artist from Texas (TX))

Mark Wayne Glasmire has such a smooth, polished, natural, and completely engaging, country tenor voice (not unlike James Taylor's), it's a wonder he's not a staple of Country or Adult Contemporary radio. A singer/songwriter who flashes a scalpel-like precision in his song craft (which also reflects his grounding in contemporary folk), his new CD, "Life Goes On," only furthers the storied – if largely unheralded, talents of this veteran performer. Utilizing a top-notch Nashville supporting ensemble, "Life Goes On" is filled with moving vignettes rich with utterly flawless flourishes of mandolin, fiddle, dobro-slide guitar, and Glasmire's own signature and virtuoso guitar playing. Songs like "Everything Is Gonna Be Alright," or "You Opened My Eyes," and lead track, "True Love Knows," resonate with heartfelt narratives and melodies that are both immediate and timeless. In fact, the 12-song CD is filled with songs that stand out as singular and noteworthy. And as he sings on the CD's title track "Life Goes On," "we should've seen it coming…" so too should music fans see the day when Mark Wayne Glasmire's name ranks with contemporaries like James Taylor, Vince Gill, and Rodney Crowell as substantive American artists.
